Adelaide Central Market (or Victoria Square)

Note: On days when the Adelaide Central Market is closed (Sunday/Monday), we substitute a tour of Adelaide’s historicVictoria (Tarndanyangga) Square. This recently upgraded central Adelaide park provides a beautiful cosmopolitan atmosphere whilst being encircled by some of Adelaide finest historic buildings.
City Sights
Next up is a peaceful trip through the crowded avenues, neighbourhoods and adjacent park lands of Adelaide. Crossing the Torrens Canal, we drive through the newly redeveloped Riverbank Area, through the world-famous Adelaide Oval and then head out of town on the scenic boulevard ‘North Terrace’ in Adelaide. Here you can see several of the most famous icons and heritage structures in Adelaide. All you have to do is sit back and soak it all in as your welcoming guide explains the link between the city and history, present and potential.
Penfolds Winery
A visit to Adelaide won’t be full without degusting any local wines in the area! Nestled in the foothills of the magnificent Adelaide Hills, only 20 minutes from the heart of the region, we pause at the world-renowned Penfolds Winery. Established in 1844, Penfolds is one of the oldest and most popular wineries in South Australia and provides spectacular views of its landmark vineyards and historic houses. You’ll enjoy custom sampling of their critically renowned wines in the state of the art cellar frame.
Cleland Wildlife Park
Our big stop for the day is at Cleland Wildlife Park where you’ll have plenty of time to get near to the most exotic animals in Australia. You will interact with amazing kangaroos, quiet wallabies and adorable inquisitive potoroos while immersing yourself in the wonders of this natural bush world. The Koala close-up view, along with seeing the Emu, Dingoes, Wombats and native bird life, is a definite must-do. Your lunch destination is also the Cleland Wildlife Reserve, part of the Mount Lofty Ranges and nestled inside the stunning Cleland Conservation Area.
Mount Lofty Summit
Fantastic panoramic views of the Adelaide Plains and the St. Vincent Gulf await you at the top. Originally discovered by Captain Matthew Flinders from Kangaroo Island in 1802, Mount Lofty Summit is 710 m highest point on the Adelaide Hills. This quick hop would give you the ideal chance to take unforgettable pictures and depending on the conditions you may also look at your harbour boats.
