Be amazed with the views from Mount Lofty Summit
We take a quick break at Mount Lofty Summit before landing in the wildlife park to admire the majestic panorama over Adelaide. The peak is the highest point in the Adelaide Hills, at about 710 m, with clear views of the Gulf St. Vincent and so far as the eye can see of the coastline north and south.
Experience the Cleland Wildlife Park difference
This landscape of 35 hectares of natural bush offers a rare open-space area with very few enclosures. It is home to more than 130 native animal species, and is one of only a few locations in the world where you can keep a koala. Cleland Wildlife Park is renowned for its animal welfare and safety protection and treatment.
Choose your Koala encounter
Get next to famous Koala in Australia! Your admission fee involves the ‘close-up’ encounter where you can view, contact and picture one of the slenderest residents of the park when speaking to the caretakers. You have a rare chance to keep a koala for an extra charge (no pre-booking), and at the same time get a professional picture shot. * The provision of Koala contact is at the park’s full discretion.
Walk among the free roaming animals
As you visit the park and navigate the pathways of self-discovery, notice an array of local wildlife and stroll inside their natural habitat among the free ranging species. Explore the colourful wetlands that are host to pelicans, cormorants, and waterbirds. See kangaroos, emus, dingoes, wallabies, demons from Tasmania and far more!
Enjoy an immersive experience
Getting acquainted with the friendliest residents of the park offers a completely unforgettable environment. The only way to get to the kangaroos, wallabies and potoroos is to feed them by hand with the supplied animal food. Don’t fail to leave any for the emus and waterfowl when you wander the forest!
And do so much more!
Do not miss the engaging interactions with the keeper; this is a perfect opportunity to know from and see the animals in motion! The Interpretive Center Ocean to Outback offers an opportunity to learn about the complex habitats of South Australia when watching the nocturnal creatures, small mammals and reptiles – you can also prefer the experience of reptile keeping!
Tip: Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park or sample some local South Australian produce at the Cleland Café.
