Penguin Island (WA)

The Island of Penguin is the centre for wildlife lovers and houses Little Penguins ‘ largest colony. Starting at the Penguin Experience Island Discovery Centre, the mild 1.5 km circular loop enables walkers to experience the flora and fauna near.

Bring a guide on your stroll to Explore the Marine Park on Penguin Island and the Shoalwater Islands. This contains a mud map and more knowledge for exploring and learning about the island’s plants and animals. It arrives from the Discovery Center, and funds are returned to the island’s administration.

The Discovery Center provides feedback and feeds to the little penguins at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm. The Top Trail has an open wheelchair boardwalk that provides access to the north overlook and tower from the jetty, picnic area and toilets.

While on the island, only as the island is a bird sanctuary can one adhere to the footpaths and demarcated beaches.

The island is only open during the day and the ferry runs from the middle of September until the beginning of June every hour, from 09:00 to 15:00.
