Your Barossa Balloon Adventures Hot Air Ballooning Experience

What happens on the day …

Daily Flights All Year – Weather permitting

Pre-Flight Check-In

Ballooning is weather-dependent, and your flight may be cancelled if the weather isn’t acceptable. Please phone our office between 5:00 and 5.30 p.m. on the evening before your scheduled flight to confirm the meeting time and weather conditions. Now is the opportunity to ask any last-minute inquiries about your hot air ballooning adventure before you go. You will be speaking with a real person, not a machine!

Next Morning Meeting Place

Your pilot and crew will meet you at Barossa Balloon Adventures home base around 2 hours before sunrise (the time varies throughout the year). The address is 71 Stonewell Road, Nuriootpa, South Australia, about 75 kilometres north of Adelaide.

After everyone has arrived and signed in, your pilot will give you a briefing before boarding our comfy 4WDs, which all have forwards facing seats and air conditioning.
Bring your cameras because there will be some incredible photo possibilities along the route. The Barossa Valley is known for having some of Adelaide’s most beautiful landscapes.

Let’s Go

Now the real adventure begins. We’ll get in the car and drive to the finest launch location for the morning. The launch location is determined by the wind speed and direction. Around the region, we have a dozen various launch sites. Although it is still early, this is an excellent time to get to know your pilot and crew and ask any questions you may have. Also watch as your pilot tests the lower wind conditions by releasing and tracking a party balloon filled with helium.

Inflate the Balloon

When we get at the launch site, your pilot and crew will prepare the balloon for take-off by inflating it. You are welcome to participate in the preparations and learn how these massive balloons are launched into the air. It takes roughly 30-40 minutes to complete this operation.

We Launch!

Take a seat, get a quick briefing, and then it’s up, up, and gone! Wave goodbye to the crew; they’ll be waiting for you on the ground when you land. It’s time to unwind and soak in the breathtaking 3600 vistas. Enjoy the tranquilly and beauty of gliding over the countryside as the sun rises. Before landing, you will fly for roughly an hour.

Landing and Pack-up

When you arrive at your destination, your team will greet you, and it will be time to deflate the balloon. Feel free to join in the fun, or take a step back and capture a few more photographs. Hop back in our comfy vehicles and it’s back to breakfast.

Barossa Breakfast

Back at home base, the morning comes to a close with a delectable gourmet breakfast. Relax and chat with your fellow passengers and pilot about the mornings events, whilst sipping sparkling wine and indulging in the best Barossa produce.
